A Prayer for Peace

A Prayer for Peace–The Lord Jesus Christ said, “Peace I
leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
let it be afraid” (John 14:27). He knew that a time would come
when peace will be very scarce on earth. We are already in
that time. Paul said,

“Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all
means. The Lord be with you all” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

Peace is one of the fruits of the spirit in the life of a believer.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith” (Galatians 5:22).

It is also a characteristic of the kingdom of God.

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but
righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”
(Romans 14:17).

A peacemaker is blessed.

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the
children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

We are enjoined to pray for the peace of our places of
domicile, even when it is a hostile place.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love
thee” (Psalm 122:6).

“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to
be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in
the peace thereof shall ye have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7).

We are also enjoined to “Follow peace with all men…”
(Hebrews 12:14).

However, the world as a system is an enemy of the Prince of
Peace. That is why it would need prayer for peace.

Prayer for Strength for a Friend

Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for the availability of the
peace that only You can give.
Peace in the Land: Let Your peace possess the heart of Your
people, Your church, and nations in Jesus name.
“For thus saith the Lord , Behold, I will extend peace to her
like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream:
then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be
dandled upon her knees” (Isaiah 66:12).
Peace from Terror: The world has become a dangerous
place because of many terrorist activities. Please Lord, for the
sake of Your people, arrest the situation in Jesus name.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff
they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4).

“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the
arrow that flieth by day” (Psalm 91:5).
Peace of Mind: Unto You, o Lord, belongs rest even in the
midst of troubles. Please, grant Your church and me the
peace of mind needed to synchronize well with Your will per
time so we can accurately fulfill our purposes here on earth in
Jesus name.
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians
4:7).
Peaceful Homes: Father, grant that the homes of Your people
will enjoy the peace that invokes Your presence in Jesus
name. Let the children and parents live in peace. Let our
neighborhood be peaceful in Jesus name.
Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus name I have
prayed. Amen!
