Christmas Prayer for the Family: Christmas is a special season, known both by Christians and non-Christians alike. It is a celebration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. And for the family, it is an opportunity to spend time together, appreciate God, and share with those who don’t have.
The Birth of Jesus: The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced to her that she was going to conceive and give birth to a holy child. Though she was a virgin, it happened.
“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her” (Luke 1:38).
The Significance of Christmas: Being a celebration of the birth of Christ, Christmas is an appreciation of God’s love for man, and His effort to redeem man by taking up mortality to die for the sins of man. It is a season beyond just festivals. It is a celebration of grace.
Family Celebrations of Christmas: Children are often the happiest at the approach of Christmas because it’s a holiday period for them and a time to make outings that are not often available at other times of the year. In many families across the world, it is a time to buy new things and new wears. It is a time to cook special meals and enjoy rare fellowships together. For some, it is a reunion.
