Prayer For A Friend

Prayer for a Friend–Relationship is a key factor in the human
society. Some relationships are intimate while others are
casual. The intimate ones deserve special attention. That is
friendship. If you have any of such in your life, you need to
work hard and pray to keep it so.
Friendship is the foundation upon which several healthy
relationships are built: business partnership, marital
relationship, working relationship, neighborliness, etc. The
trust in these relationships is based on the friendliness upon
which they are founded. However, such friendship must be
with believers. Those with unbelievers will damage your
relationship with God.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what
fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)
“Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious
man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a
snare to thy soul” (Proverbs 22:24-25).
Your true friend shares in your joys and sorrows. He knows
things about you that other people are not privy to.
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth
not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all
things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto
you” (John 15:15).
Praying for your friend should be habitual. The peace and
disruptions in his life also affect you. His character reflects in
you. In this is fulfilled the popular saying, “Show me your
friend, and I will tell who you are.” The Bible says,

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners”
(1 Corinthians 15:33).
Anyone who does not make you a better person, and that is
not positively impacted by you, is not your friend. Anyone who
cannot tell you the truth, no matter how it hurts, is not your
friend. You must also bear in mind, that a jealous friend is a
dangerous enemy.

PRAYER FOR A FRIEND

Father, thank you for blessing me with a friend who knows
You, and has helped immensely towards my growth in Your
word. Bless him for me in Jesus name. Let his paths be
blessed with limitless favor in Jesus name. Give him grace to
hold firm to You till the end in Jesus name.
“…He that endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew
10:22).
Father, address all his areas of needs in Jesus name. The
storms attempting to overwhelm him shall cease in Jesus
name. His confidence in You will never weaken in Jesus
name.
Father, reward his years of labor in Your vineyard in Jesus
name. He is about to be discouraged concerning his finances,
have mercy and help him in Jesus name. Your word says,
“Even lions go hungry for lack of food,
but those who obey the Lord lack nothing good” (Psalm
34:10).
Let help me available to him before his needs arise in Jesus
name.
