Prayer for a Sick Child

Prayer for a Sick Child–Parents are often very disturbed
whenever any of their children is distressed. It is even worse if
the child is incapable of expressing his feelings. Some
parents, especially mothers, would even prefer to take the
place of the child's suffering. This is an example of how our
Heavenly Father feels whenever we are ailing. And since He
feels this way, He would readily respond to our prayers for our
sick children.

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the
Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” (Luke 11:13).

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not
have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may
forget, yet will I not forget thee” (Isaiah 49:15).

When a Child is Sick: Sickness on children is caused by
many factors. Most of them include:

1. Inability to defend themselves;
2. Developing immunity;
3. Lack of expression of how they feel;
4. Infections;
5. Weather changes;
6. Excessive crying;
7. Malnutrition;
8. Spiritual attacks; etc.

So, it creates concern. And even medical personnel will need
tests to ascertain what the matter is because the child won’t

be able to explain the symptoms. This makes praying for a
sick child more needful and reasonable.

“At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick. And
Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise
thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam;
and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet,
which told me that I should be king over this people. And take
with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and
go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child” (1
Kings 14:1-3).

“And Nathan departed unto his house. And the Lord struck the
child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted,
and went in, and lay all night upon the earth” (2 Samuel 12:15-
16).

Prayer for a Sick Child

Thanksgiving: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for my
child. Thank You for the safe arrival of the child into this world
and into my family.
Mercy: Have mercy on him/her in Jesus name. He/she is
defenseless and innocent. Let the abundance of Your mercy
find expression in him/her in Jesus name.
Divine Touch: Lord, as You raised the daughter of Jairus
from death, raise my child from the sick bed in Jesus name.
Reverse whatever condition went wrong to create the ailments
in Jesus name.

Augmentation of Nutrition: Father, make up for whatever
nutritional deficiency he/she may have in Jesus name. Let the
power in the blood of Jesus supply the inefficiency in his/her
blood in Jesus name.
“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His
blood, ye have no life in you…As the living Father hath sent
Me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth Me, even he
shall live by Me” (John 6:53, 57).
Security from Infections: Lord, heal my child of all
contaminations and infections in Jesus name. Let that virus,
bacteria, or whatever microbes have caused his/her illness die
in Jesus name.
Favorable Weather: Let the weather favor him/her in Jesus
name. Give him/her immunity against the adversity of weather
changes in Jesus name.
Protection from Spiritual Attacks: Father, shield my child
from the arrows of the wicked in Jesus name. Let them return
to the sender in Jesus name.
“But thus saith the Lord , Even the captives of the mighty shall
be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered:
for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will
save thy children” (Isaiah 49:25).
Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus name I have
prayed. Amen!
