Prayer for My Son

Prayer for My Son–Your son is your seed. He is a reflection
of you. He bears your family name and also grows up to grow
a family of his own, thereby increasing the branches of your
family tree. He is responsible to raise another generation to
fulfill the mandate of God to:

“…Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish j the earth, and
subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth
upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28)

Therefore, he needs your prayers.

“And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him,
and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters
of Canaan. Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel
thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the
daughters of Laban thy mother's brother. And God Almighty
bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou
mayest be a multitude of people” (Genesis 28:1-3).

Experience: As someone who has gone to head of him in life,
you must have had experiences that will be useful in helping
you to pray for him. That is one of the reasons why you qualify
to pray for him.

Priesthood: Praying for your son is one of your priestly roles
over his life and destiny.

Prayer for My Son

Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for the privilege to parent a
son. Thank You for his life so far, and his life ahead.

Alignment with Divine Purpose: Lord, I ask that my son will
be full of Your Spirit in Jesus name. Let his thoughts revolve
around You and Your purpose for his life and his generation in
Jesus name.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the
Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11)

The Knowledge of God: Father, he is young, teach him Your
ways in Jesus name. Help him to live for You all the days of
his life in Jesus name. Destroy every destructive tendency in
him in Jesus name.
“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking
heed thereto according to Thy word” (Psalm 119:9).
Preservation from Evil: Father, the world is a wicked place.
Preserve my son from its evil in Jesus name. Do not let it
corrupt him, and don’t let him be a victim in Jesus name.
“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but
that thou shouldest keep them from the evil” (John 17:15).
“And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is
indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us
from evil” (Luke 11:4).
Divine Direction: Father, my son, like we all, is a stranger on
earth, direct his paths in Jesus name. Do not let him make
destiny mistakes in Jesus name.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Eternal Life: Father, help my son to fear and hold on to You
till he breathes his last in this world in Jesus name.
Hymn (Final Stanza, Rock of Ages Cleft for Me): While I
draw this fleeting breath, when my eyelids close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown, see Thee on Thy judgment
throne, rock of ages cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee.
Thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus name I have
prayed. Amen!
